Who is Marie Rose Ferron- Stigmatist of Woonsocket, RI., USA.?

Marie Rose Ferron with Crown of Thorns shows slight pixels 100_0356"Little Marie Rose Ferron" (24 May 1902 born in a stable- 11 May 1936, Age: 33 years like her Jesus), (Canadian born but brought up in the U.S.A.), Stigmatic & Mystic of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, U.S.A..
Sr. of Precious Blood,
Foundress of Sisters of Reparation of Sacred Wounds of Jesus- 08 Dec 1928,
Sr. of 3rd Order of St. Francis- 28 May 1929.

MARIE ROSE ALMA FERRON was born in a stable like her Jesus on 24 May 1902 in St. Germain-De-Grantham, P.Q., Canada, to Jean Baptiste and Rose Delima (Mathieu) Ferron. Her mother a deeply devout Catholic had secretely dedicated each of her children to each of the mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Virgin Mary, starting with her first child. Little Rose was the 10th child, dedicated secretely to the 10th mystery- Christs passion & Crucifiction. Little Rose, as she would become known as, would become one out of 150 Stigmatics of the world who bore Jesus's precious wounds and one out of 30 who bore all 5 of his precious wounds and the statistics are even less when you consider that she united even more with her Jesus and suffered even more than most all of the stigmatics known!

Little Rose was close to her Jesus at a very early age, becoming a visionary recorded as early as the age of 3, being known to speak to St. Anthony & Child Jesus, and as she increased in her love and knowledge of Jesus, she became favored more with many blessings from her Jesus. She had a deep devotion to her Jesus, Joseph, Mother Mary, St. Anthony, St. Theresa, St. Magella, St. Roch, St. Patrick, and even had a relationship with Bl. Andre Bessette, and the famous German Stigmatic during her time- Theresa Neumann who referred a very wealthy pilgrim- Mr. Herbert Vigue back to her "Little sister- Little Rose, in his own country! At 7 years old, Jesus would give little Rose a very special prayer- "The Supplication for Sinners" that she would say every day for the rest of her life. At 10, Rose had her 1st communion.

Like her Jesus, she died at the age of 33 but not before she suffered much physical, spiritual and mental pains carrying the weight of the cross with grace, silence, obedience and great love. Like Jesus sold out for money, suffered the abandonment & betrayal of his dear friend Judas, so would Little Rose suffer the abandonment & betrayal of 3 of her good friends Mrs. Alice (Trottier) Guerin, Mrs. Florida Royer, & Fa. Baril, the last 3 years of her precious life, which started out being sold out for the sake of money as well.. Like her Jesus, the last 3 years of her life, was quite significant! She offered her sufferings to help her beloved Bishop and for the return of 62 rebellious excommunicated sentinellists and continued even after the matter resolved making her one of the most loved and admired stigmatics of all time.

Marie Rose Alma (Roselma) Ferron, aka: Marie Rose Ferron, Mystic & Stigmatist of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, U.S.A., (24 May 1902 - 11 May 1936) was born 24 May 1902 in a stable at feeding time for the animals, across the street from her house- intersection of Rte. Ferron & ?, (belonging to the Parish of St. Germain), St. Germain-de-Grantham, Province of Quebec, Canada to Jean-Baptiste Ferron and Rose "Delima" Syclimone (Mathieu). She was the 10/15 children to be born. While her father was plowing the fields, her mother went to feed the animals and started hemoridging which set off her labor and the birth of little "Rose". Her mother secretly dedicated each of her children to one of the 15 mysteries starting with her 1st child Anatole all the way to "Rose" the 10th child dedicated to the 10th mystery-the Crucifiction until her last child- Wilbrod Joseph, the 15th. Not even her husband Jean-Baptiste had known what she had done, but this would be a promise-Vow that God would hold her to and cherish!
Jean-Baptiste Ferron, her father, was born in St. Marcel, P.Q., Canada on 17 or 30 September 1867 to Desire Sr. Ferron (Feron) and Ademire-Philomene Nadeau. He would marry 17 July 1888 in St. Aime Parish, St. Aime (now called Massueville), P.Q., Canada to Rose-de-Lima Sydimore or Syclimone (Mathieu) who was born in 03 May 1868 or 1870 in St. Aime, P.Q., Canada to Gilbert-Norbert Mathieu & Philomene-Lucie Beaudreau (Beaudeau). They had 15 children within 21 years in 3 different areas- 1) St. Marcel, 2) St. Germain-de-Grantham (both of P.Q., Canada) & 3) Fall River, Bristol County, Massachusetts, U.S.A.:

Nice to meet you! Do you know what is the name of the book? I am searching to get all the books on Little Rose, in particularly Father JB Palm's red book, if anyone knows how I can get a hold of one, I'd be forever grateful! Thanks for letting me know I will contact the bookshop to find out.

As for the "Mysterious Illnesses" that happened to Little Rose, they started when she was young. As she became closer and closer to her Jesus, she began uniting more & more, and offered up to God her sufferings for the sake of souls. She wanted to help as many as she could. She loved her Jesus deeply and loved everyone about her. She sacraficed and suffered much, and prayed consistently & endlessly. Her love extended way beyond the ones she knew to ones she didn't know around the world. Rose didn't live her life for herself, she lived and suffered, uniting everything with Jesus, for the love of others and for the love of her Jesus.

Rose was 1 out 150 Known stigmatics in the world, & 1 out of 30 to be known to suffer All of Christs wounds and passion.
Many Sweet Blessings,

My name is Stacey Godding and I live in Montreal. Marie-Rose-Ferron was my maternal grandfather's first cousin. His name was Arthur Ferron. I grew up listening to stories about Marie-Rose's stigmatics. I never imagined that part of the family actually branched out to the U.S! Anyway, it would be nice to hear from you. You can e-mail me at matter_maximus@hotmail.com

My Grandmother was a frequent visitor to Rose, when Rose lived in Woonsocket and a great believer. In fact she spent the night of Rose' death at her home. My grandfather was one of the sentinellists, who of course was reuntied to the Church. I met Fr. Palm at my grandmother's home and had the privilidge of meet Rose' sister. I wonder what has happened to her "cause" for cannonization?
Thank you.

On September 9, 2009, Fr. Palm passed away. His obituary in the San Jose Mercury reads as follows:

Fr. John Baptist Palm, S.J. Fr. John Baptist Palm, 95, died September 8, 2009 at Sacred Heart Jesuit Center, Los Gatos. He was an ordained priest for 68 years and a Jesuit for 65. Palm was expelled from Shanghai on July 26, 1953. John went to Hsinchu, Taiwan, where he was assistant pastor. He remained there until 2003. For many years he worked with the parish's social outreach. "I have charge of the city's Taiwanese poor," he wrote in the mid-fifties. He also served as director of the Apostleship of Prayer, and later was named promoter of the Charismatic Renewal Movement in Taiwan. Finally, failing health brought him to Sacred Heart Jesuit Center in 2004. Fr. John Palm's funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 15, at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Jesuit Center, 300 College Ave., Los Gatos, CA. Donations in memory of Fr. I am reading a book entitled "She Wears a Crown of Roses" by Rev. O.A. Boyer, S.T.L. It is a good book. I found it while cleaning out my mother's house.

Hi Marie-Rose!

Just found your blog here while going on Google for Little Rose Ferron.

I have two books on her: 'She Wears A Crown of Thorns' by Father Boyer, and '"A Stigmatist: Marie-Rose Ferron' by Jeanne Bouin. I also have a couple of photo documentary books on her, and the booklet, 'My Heart Speaks To Thee'. And at one time I was a subscriber to the old 'Little Rose Magazine'. I still have copies of it! In addition, I have an audio tape on Little Rose's life from 'Keep The Faith'.

I visited Woonsocket, RI in 1975, when I and a friend went on a bus trip there for the anniversary of Little Rose's death on May 10 of that year. Her sister Flora was still alive back then, and I remember that we were crowded into the basement of her home, which had the contents of Rose's private chapel. Her home was across the street from the house where Rose died.

My friend and I back then were thinking of joining the Discalced Carmelite nuns, so Flora was especially nice to us. My friend did enter the following year, but only lasted a month. I ended up not entering at all. Oh, and FYI, there was a nun in that community who was a niece of Father Boyer's! Small world, isn't it?

After participating in the prayer service with Flora and the other pilgrims that day, our group had lunch, then went to the Precious Blood Cemetery and visited Little Rose's grave. I remember that some of the group members kissed the slab that marks the grave and took away some of the dirt. I got some plastic roses that ringed the grave, which I still have.

I'm glad that you have the birth and death dates of all the Ferrons' children. I was wondering when Flora died in particular. And I also see from one of the comments posted here that Father J-B Palm passed away in 2009. He was mentioned in the book 'A Stigmatist'.

Thanks for this blog!

Hi again!

I noticed that you mentioned Blessed Dina Belanger (Marie Ste-Cecile de Rome, RJM). Are you really related to her? If so, very cool, then! I once knew someone in Quebec, Canada (Ile-de-Orleans, actually) who was also related to her (someone from her father's side married someone on his mother's side), and who also had two great-aunts who were fellow religious with her in the convent in Sillery! The friend I knew is a priest in the Quebec Archdiocese; his name is Pere Robert Cote.

I've been to Sillery Convent twice; first time was when my friend Pere Cote (see above paragraph) took me in June 1994. The second time was when I went to Quebec City by myself in October 1998. I have several books on her, as well as pictures and third-class relics which I got at the convent.

I see that Glenn Dellaire of CT has commented here. He has the blog, 'Mystics of the Church'. A little over two years ago (August-September 2010) I submitted an article on Blessed Dina for him to put on the blog. Took a lot of writing (both by hand and by email), but it was a 'labor of love'! All the pictures that are in the article are ones which I sent him through the mail.

I've also been to St. Joseph's Oratory in Montreal to visit [now] Saint Andre Bessette; last time was in 1994.

I see you also like St. Joan of Arc...so do I! I've visited the three principal places of her life in France: Domremy, Orleans and Rouen! I also have a replica of her battle standard, among other things.

Do you have email? If you do, here's my address:
www.lourdes1858@myway.com. Not being pushy here if you don't want to reply. I'll understand if you don't want to.

I have recently been reading about Marie Rose Ferron in Bonin's and Fr. Boyer's books. Does anyone know what's going on with Little Rose's cause for canonization process?

I was told by Fr. McKenna that a niece that helped take care of Little Rose still lives in Woonsocket and has a small shrine in her home. I would be honored if I was able to meet this wonderful woman. I try to visit Little Rose often, i always feel comforted while i am there. Thank you Little Rose for all blessings and favors granted. email byrneking69@yahoo.com with any information, thank you! God Bless!

I too am interested in what has happened to the cause for Rose's canonization process. I read online that she has been raised in the Orthodox Church to the level of Glorified.
http://www.littleroseshrine.org/index.php?p=1_6_DECREE-of-GLORIFICATION-of-LITTLE-ROSE-FERRON

My grandmother had great devotion to St. Brother Andre and Little Rose, so they are very dear to my heart. Any info would be welcomed.
